On 12 Muharam, 1406 HJ, King Saud University issued its historical decision to permit, for the first time, establishing the medical societies in the Kingdom. The Saudi Society of Ophthalmology has taken the cake among the Saudi medical societies that have been established immediately after issuing this decision, leading the progress of the ophthalmology in the Kingdom under the headship of H.E. Prince Abdul Aziz Bin Ahmed Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud. The Saudi Society of Ophthalmology has pursued its mission to serve this vital sector.
